Versions, corrections and the archive

A better copy never overwrites the original: replacing creates a new version, and every earlier one stays retrievable with its checksum.

Step by step

  1. Open the document and choose "Replace" when a better copy exists, a more complete scan, say.Type and metadata are kept
  2. Inspect the version list: every copy with date and SHA-256 checksum, each individually downloadable.E-invoices included
  3. Use the archive for the view across all properties, including documents of archived properties.Filter by property, type and period
  4. Deleted documents remain restorable for 30 days, after which the files are removed for good.Deletions appear in the activity log

The result: Corrections overwrite nothing: whoever later needs to know what applied when will find every copy along with its checksum.

What if it does not work?

The old version seems to be missing.
The version list belongs to the document, not the file. Open the document and its versions; the archive shows only the current copy.
