Storing your own signature

An image of your signature, so ImmoDok can put it on the documents you issue yourself – the landlord confirmation above all.

Step by step

  1. Sign on white paper and photograph or scan the sheet.Straight from above, good light, PNG, JPEG or WebP up to 4 MB
  2. Upload the image under Settings → Profile at “My signature”.ImmoDok trims it to a narrow strip
  3. Confirm that it is your own signature.Recorded with its date; ImmoDok only sees a picture
  4. Create the landlord confirmation from the tenancy as before.The signature then sits on the line

The result: The landlord confirmation under § 19 BMG comes out of ImmoDok signed. Place and date stay empty for you to fill in by hand. Without a stored signature the line stays blank, exactly as before.

Important: Only for documents you issue yourself. It explicitly does not apply to the handover protocol: there each party signs for themselves, at the appointment on the device or by hand on the printout. A stored signature would be no evidence there, because anyone signed in could apply it. For the same reason you cannot store somebody else’s signature here.

What if it does not work?

The file is rejected.
It has to be an image: PNG, JPEG or WebP. A PDF will not do because it is not an image file, and SVG will not because an SVG file can contain program code.
The signature sits crooked or looks too faint.
Photograph it straight from above rather than at an angle, with good light and no shadow. A dark pen on white paper gives the cleanest result; ImmoDok does not retouch the photo.
Will the registration office accept an applied signature?
The Bundesmeldegesetz requires a written or electronic confirmation (§ 19 (1) BMG), but no handwritten signature; practice differs between registration offices. If yours insists on ink, print the confirmation and sign by hand – remove the stored signature first, and the line will be blank again.
Can I get rid of it again?
Yes, “Remove” deletes the image and the confirmation at once. Documents already created stay as they were.
